Mom's Quilt for Her Birthday and Throwback Thursday

Here is a quilt made by my mother circa 1980.  She only took up quilting for a few short years and then moved on to other interests.  This is the only quilt I have from her before her passing in 2010.

It's a Cathedral Window with all contemporary fabrics for the time, which means 1970s.

She managed to find fabric with our family's last name, "Francis."

And as she and her four children were natives of the Old Dominion ... (Dad was a yankee, but we forgave him for it).
Something groovy from the recently past era.
And someone who wants his chance at fame.

I've posted this beloved heirloom on this Throwback Thursday because tomorrow would have been my mom's 93rd birthday, Barbara Lou Inge Francis, January 8, 1923 to November 23, 2010.  Rest in peace, Mom; you are not forgotten.

Thank you for taking the time to read my blog.
